Who We Are
Green Africa Organization
We are a legally established and registered Non-Governmental Organization based in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, since September 19, 2019. It addresses environmental and climate challenges faced by local communities by offering sustainable solutions focused on green innovation, forest and land governance, biodiversity conservation, and resilient agricultural development.
Driven by a multidisciplinary and committed team, the organization adopts an innovative approach that combines digital technologies with agroecological practices in an integrated vision of sustainable development and ecological transition.
Green Africa Organization places youth, women, and local communities at the heart of its actions. It mobilizes, trains, and equips them to become agents of change in the fight against climate change and in community development. The organization promotes green employment, environmental and land education, agroforestry, and water, hygiene, and sanitation (WASH) programs.
GAO works closely with volunteers, civil society organizations, public institutions, and technical and financial partners. It is also an active member of several national and international networks, including:
